How To Create A Passive Income With The Internet

How To Create A Passive Income With The InternetToday I am going to talk about how to create a passive income with the internet. It is a fact that more and more people are on getting their information through the internet. They are also purchasing way more things online. Because of this trend, now is the perfect time for anyone who would like to earn some passive income online to take the first step.

Definition Of Passive Income

First of all, What is the definition of passive income? Passive income is revenue that you earn even while you are not actively working (such as earning money while you are sleeping). This can be done through a website that you created and that you have “monetized”.

Time And Work Involved

Passive income does not mean that you did not have to do any work towards earning it. As a matter of fact, to set up a website that will give you passive income is a lot of work. You would be looking at a minimum of 3 months of consistent time and effort in developing your website before you would start seeing some passive income coming in. Even when your website starts to earn you money, you will have to regularly spend time to continually build and improve your website to attract more and more visitors. The good news is that once your website is established and you consistently have over 100 unique visitors to your website daily, you will see the results of all your hard work pay off.

Ideas For Websites

Some websites that you can create to get passive income may include:

The focus is totally up to you as to what direction you want to take with your website.

Product Review Site

Lets look a little bit more closely at a product review site. Say, you want to do a product review on a KitchenAid stand mixer. You have one in your home and you know what is good about it and what is bad about it. In your report, you will write about what you like about the mixer and what you don’t like about the mixer. You can also create your own rating system on the product. Somewhere within the web page that you created, you can put a link in to an affiliate site that sells that particular mixer. If a person reads the review on your page and then buys that mixer through the affiliate link that you provided, then you have earned commission for the sale.

One thing I wanted to add here. If your review for a particular product is bad, still put in the affiliate link. People make their own decisions despite the fact that you gave a negative review. You never want to lose out on a potential sale just because you did not put a link in your review.

I know of many people that earn good residual income just by doing product reviews.

An E commerce Store Site

An E commerce store is basically a drop shipping business. An E commerce drop shipping business will help you set up a website with items to sell and your job is to generate traffic to that online store. The more traffic you have coming to your store, the more chances that someone will buy from your store and you get commissions on those sales. At the present time, I personally have not explored drop shipping but if I do in the future, I will report back here what I think of it.

A Blog Site

A Blog Site is where I first started earning passive income on the internet. I have many interests and blogging about what I have found within my interests has always come easy. Just like the product review site, after you have finished writing your blog post, if it is about a certain product you discovered or are talking about, try to put an affiliate link linking that product in there.

Blog sites are always very casual and conversational. Never use a post just to “sell” a product. Your blog site should always be natural and easygoing.

An Information Site

An Information Site is just what it sounds like. It is a site that gives people the information they are looking for. This post that you are reading right now is on one of my information sites. The main focus of an information site is to quickly and easily provide the information that a visitor is seeking. If the visitor needs more information than what is provided, then give links to send them to the area where they can get more information. An information site is definitely not a selling site but there can be links to affiliate sites if they are appropriate and relevant.

Where To Go From Here

Now that you have an overview of some of the most popular ways to earn passive income on the internet, your next question may be: How do I learn more?

For me personally, I found that the company Wealthy Affiliate has the most comprehensive teaching program for those people interested in earning passive income on the internet. They have a free sign up membership that will give a member all the knowledge they need to get their internet business up and running. Here is a link to where I have given a review on Wealthy Affiliate. I listed all the pros and cons from my point of view. And yes, there are some cons.

Is creating websites to earn passive income worth the effort?

Absolutely!

If you are willing to put in the time and effort to learn and create, the amount of passive income you can make on the internet will be beyond your expectations..

  1. Hello RamonaLD,

Thanks for breaking down passive income! I also liked the fact that you mentioned work is needed before you can actually harvest.

What do you think about Google AdSense in terms of contributing to a passive income?

I started my website about 2 months ago and would love to hear some feedback from you.

    Kind Regards,
    Eric

    1. Hi Eric:

Google AdSense is a good tool to have in your marketing arsenal but I personally would not utilize it until I have determine which pages on my web site gets the most traffic and conversion rate. I would also evaluate what keywords I have used on that page so I know how to word my ad. Oftentimes, Google will give a credit (up to $150) as a promotion to use them when they know that you are an affiliate marketer. If you are given that offer, wisely use the credit only when your website is ready so you do not waste it.
